María Ellingsen is an actress, director and a writer. She studied at New York University the Experimental Theater Wing and has played many roles in theater, film and television both in Iceland and abroad. In her pocket she also keeps the Second Stage Theater as a venue to produce material that speaks to her. There she has created unique shows, many in collaboration with Nordic artists. She has been honored for her work many times. She won best actress at the Film Festival in Verona for AGNES and her first directing work ÚLFHAMSSAGA received seven nominations for Gríman and won two awards. She has hosted Radio and Television shows and is a well-known puplic speaker and coach.
