Björgvin Franz Gíslason

Björgvin Franz Gíslason is an Icelandic actor, singer, writer and a performer whose stageworks consists of roles such as Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Ms. Trunchbull in Matilda The Musical, Rowan in Noises Off among others. Björgvin was the equivalent of Mr.Rogers in Iceland, writing and starring in more than 90 children’s TV episodes for the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, earning him the EDDA awards for the best Icelandic children program in 2011. He has also produced and hosted Icelandic travel TV shows (In the Heart Of Town)  as well as hosting and singing in the Christmas Special for the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service in 2019. He did a bit part in Clint Eastwood’s Flags of our Fathers, as well as supporting roles in The Icelandic Dream and the short film 1.St Place. He is also a veteran voiceover actor, dubbing for roles such as John Oliver´s Zazu in the new rendition of  Lion King as well as Tony Hale´s Forky in Toy Story 4. He recently played a principal role in the Icelandic comedy series Eurogarðurinn, as well as a principal role in the American horror film Miracle Valley which wiill premiere  in 2022. Björgvin played a supporting role in the new Icelandic drama series Verbúð (Blackport) that won the Grand Prize at the Series Mania festival in France and will premiere 2021. Björgvin also played a supporting role in the Icelandic drama series Vitjanir (Fractures) which will premiere in 2022.
