Telma Huld Jóhannesdóttir

Telma’s film career began in 2015 when she played a supporting lead role in Icelandic indie film Webcam by Sigurður Anton. She has worked on a variety of film and television productions since. Among notable roles are ‘Lóa’ lead role in Eden by Snævar Sölvi Sölvason, ‘Telma’ in Echo by Rúnar Rúnarsson and ‘Bettý’ in Vegferð by Baldvin Z. She studied acting at Cours Florent in Paris where the studies were theatre based and taught in both English and French. She then went on to Prague Film School in the Czech Republic where the acting studies were more film oriented.

Telma is a versatile actress with a rich background working in films though not excluding the theatre. She took part in the show “Illska” in the City theatre in Reykjavík with the performance group “Óskabörn Ógæfunnar”. She also has 10 years of experience with classical ballet. Telma is also a skilled singer and songwriter, securing her triple threat credentials.

Telma has been nicknamed “the Indie Queen of Iceland” and she says it’s the best
compliment she has ever received.
