Thora Karitas is an actor, writer and producer. She studied at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London and has acted various roles in theatre, film and television. Thora was nominated to Gríman, the Icelandic Theater Award, for May in Sam Shepards Fool for Love and nominated to Eddan, the Icelandic Film and Television awards for her role as Fanney in the TV sitcom Astridur. Thora Karitas started her career in Television and has written and hosted various magazine shows for an example the travel magazine show Unique Iceland for Icelandair. Thora Karitas is a published author and has written two books. Her first book And the Swans Began to Sing is available in English and was nominated to Fjöruverðlaunin, The Icelandic Women Literary Prize in 2016 and her latest book is an historical novel set in Iceland in 1618.
