Pétur Óskar, a graduate of the acting department at Cours Florent in Paris (2014), is a versatile artist who has made a name for himself in both film and theater. His language skills are impressive – he speaks fluent German and French and has worked in various film and theater projects in these languages. He also lived in Boston so he speaks fluent English and Luxembourgish.
In Iceland, he played one of the main roles in the film “Cruelty” and also appeared in “And Breathe Normally” and “Capitani”, a much-praised Luxembourgish Netflix series. His most acclainmed role is that of the policeman Tryggvi in “Trapped 2”. Most recently, he played in the theater piece “Polishing Iceland” directed by Pálína Jónsdóttir as part of the “Reykjavik International Ensemble” and even performed this piece in the renowned Shakespeare Theater in Gdansk, Poland.
His recent successes include main roles in “Tatort-Kiel, Borowski und der Wiedergänger” directed by Andreas Kleinert and in “Hagen”, a film/series directed by Phillip Stennert and Cyrill Boss.
As a musician under the name Oscar Leone, Pétur has released five songs, all of which have been placed high on various popularity scales. His music is reminiscent of Arcade Fire and Edward Sharpe – heartwarming indie rock with a touch of folk/country. For his music video to “Superstar” he was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards, and the following year he received another nomination for his song “Take the Seasons”.
