Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir is an Icelandic actress, TV show host, producer and writer. She graduated from the Drama Centre London in 1990.
Steinunn Ólina starred as detective Gabriela in Netflix original show, Case in 2015 and garnered international acclaim for her performance. She received the prestigious FIPA D’OR awards for best actress for her role as well as the Icelandic Edda Film and Television awards as actress of the year. More recent work includes the series Trapped, Prisoners which won her best supporting actress Edda awards in 2018) and Stella Blomquist in 2017.
Steinunn Ólína has been featured in numerous high-profile stage productions, at the National Theatre of Iceland and elsewhere.
Recent roles include Queen Margaret in Richard III, Asta Sollilja in Independent People, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Roxy Hart in Chicago, Sister Aloysius in DOUBT, The Logician in The Rhinoceros, Señora Solara in My Brilliant Friend and Inga/Edda in Sjö Ævintýri um skömm, by Tyrfingur Tyrfingsson.
